A 1-minute walk from Tanimachi 6-Chome Station, “CUCINA ITALIANA PEDROLINO” aims to propose pairings of Italian food and craft beer. The owner-chef, Takaya Nakano, left Japan while he was in college and trained in distant Italy. He is a so-called otaku. Cooking is always on his mind. This shop was opened to allow him to test out his own ideas.
On the other hand, Mr. Tsuyoshi Kawasaki, who has known the chef since his teens, is in charge of selecting the craft beer. He is a connoisseur who studied at a craft beer specialty store for 4 years and chooses a beer that is close to the chef’s cuisine.
The chef’s obsession extends to seasonings, and making his own seasonings is no longer a hobby. The roasted duck also uses a homemade seasoning made from powdered olive oil.
